The Semarang Tawang Station

The Semarang Tawang station is the main station in the Semarang City. The trains server executive, business, and economy classes. This station is the oldest and was once the biggest railway station in Indonesia and was declared on July 19 1868 for the route of Semarang Tawang to Tanggung.
In 1873 the route was extended to the station Solo Balapan and continued to the Lempuyangan station in Yogyakarta. Not many changes were carried out on this station especially to the front and it is until this day still in good condition. The field that was in front of the Tawang station is now a water feature which also had a historical value because of its wide open area from the old city that was a functional place used for ceremony, sports matches and so forth.

In the past there was a visual connection between the station and the Blenduk Protestant Church. Therefore the role of this station is very important to this region and could increase the value of this region. If we see the aspect of the city landscape, the Tawang station provides the quality and the potential for open space ini this region.
